The US Dept. of Justice has issued a corrective to the Cuba embargo law:
US residents can bring back Cuban cigars, but only one box at a time per person, and for their personal use only.
That means you can NOT, in any way, receive any box in the USA, but only that you can cross the US border with a box, preferably already opened and with one or more cigars smoked, to prove that the cigars are for personal use.

not only illegal if found by customs you get a little red flag so every time you enter the USA be prepared to be searched

Yes is it . But if you want to get some you can take a trip to Mexico and get them there long as you dont bring them back .

Yes, due to the embargo with Cuba, it is illegal to bring any Cuban products in the USA. Customs would confiscate any Cuban products if you are caught with them.
