travelling to canada, what is the law with bringing back one box of cuban cigars?

I live in michigan and I want to know what the law is on bringing back one box of cuban cigars for personal use. what should I do?

Melanie is a bit incorrect - while Cuban goods are legal in Canada, it is still technically illegal for an American citizen to purchase them, even in countries where they are legal.

As for getting caught, that is another matter......

But to answer your question, it is illegal for you to purchase and bring back Cuban cigars.

Sorry no can do. Because they are illegal here. Found out by trying to send some "home" into The United States from Lebanon. Our customs seized them.

You can buy all the cigars you want in Canada but the fact still stands that they are illegal in America. Which means you cannot bring them home

You are allowed to bring back 50 cigars, in Canada there is no trade embargo with Cuba…but if you are travelling through the USA you won’t be able to bring them through US Customs.

Looking at all the answers, kinda sucks being an American, eh?
